Coherent light-matter interaction in van der Waals materials

Abstract:

Van der Waals semiconductors may feature large oscillator strengths and at the same the flexibility to construct heterostructure and to integrate with a variety of substrates. Therefore they allow new regimes of coherent light-matter interactions that have been difficult to access in traditional materials. We will discuss a few different types of 2D material systems where coherent light-matter interactions lead to novel optical, excitonic and polaritonic properties.
