AI for Scientific Data Analysis centers around the identification, analysis and interpretation of data using AI from, e.g., microscopy, spectroscopy, chemistry, and astronomy.

The theme arranges a seminar series that will be held every second Thursday each month. This is the first seminar in the series.

Title: Convolutional Neural Networks for source finding in astronomy: the Team FORSKA-Sweden approach to SKA Data Challenge 2.

Agenda

13.00-14.00 Speakers:

  • Maria Carmen Toribio Perez from the Department of Space, Earth and Environment
  • Henrik Håkansson from Fraunhofer-Chalmers Centre

14:00-late: Traditional “fika” and networking in the nearby Nexus.

AI for Scientific Data Analysis

This theme is about utilizing the power of AI as a tool for scientific research. AI can be applied to, and potentially speed up, discovery and utilization in a variety of research disciplines, such as microscopy, physics, biology, chemistry, and astronomy.
