13:00–13:05 Opening (Fredrik Johansson, CHAIR)
13:05–13:45 Branislav Kveton
Branislav Kveton is a Principal Scientist at Adobe Research. He proposes, analyzes, and applies algorithms that learn incrementally, run in real time, and converge to near-optimal solutions as the number of observations increases. His recent work focuses on applying these ideas to modern generative models and human feedback.
13:45–14:25 Sandeep Juneja
Sandeep is a Professor of Computer Science and the founding director of the Safexpress Centre for Data, Learning and Decision Sciences at Ashoka University. His research focuses on applied probability, including sequential learning, mathematical finance, Monte Carlo methods, and game-theoretic analysis of queues. More recently, this includes epidemiological modeling and applying machine learning to monsoon weather modeling in India.
14:25–15:15 Coffee break with posters from Chalmers researchers
15:15–15:55 Alexandre Proutiere
Alexandre Proutiere is a professor of Electrical Engineering at KTH, the Royal Institute of Technology. His research interests include probability, optimization, and machine learning with applications to communication networks.
15:55–16:15 Slawomir Nowaczyk
Slawomir Nowaczyk is a Professor in the School of Information Technology and the Center for Applied Intelligent Systems Researcha (CAISR) at Halmstad University.
16:15–17:55 Chalmers Speakers
16:55–17:00 Wrap-up (Fredrik Johansson)
The workshop is hosted in connection with the PhD defense of Newton Mwai Kinyanjui on October 10,13:00 in EC.
