Abstract:

Events in the coming years will decide whether humanity successfully coordinates to handle dangerous AI capabilities, who will be in control over superintelligence, or whether such control fails. Labor displacement shifts public opinion. Capabilities related to cyberwarfare or bioweapons development shape geopolitical tensions. Rogue self-replicating AIs may be nigh impossible to control.

In this talk, we shall take a closer look at some key turning points, potential timelines, and their effects on the world.

As co-founder of AI Safety Gothenburg, Alvin Ånestrand organizes events for those who want to understand and engage with approaches to AI safety.
