Abstract, Alexander Berman:

To the extent that assessments from AI systems are explained in a form that suits non-technical stakeholders, this is typically achieved with the help of phrases and elucidations formulated by humans (e.g. system designers) rather than by the AIs as such. In this talk, I will discuss some ethical concerns that emerge when humans explain on behalf of AIs, using examples from case studies of high-stakes applications.
