Wind turbines in evening light.

Swedish Wind Centre

Research about wind power planning, siting, turbine technology, operation and maintenance as well as integration into the electricity system.

The Swedish Wind Power Centre, SWC, collects most of the Swedish research in wind power and is Sweden's only centre for wind power research. Internationally, SWC mainly contributes with knowledge about wind power in the Nordic conditions with ice formation and forests.

Sweden has a goal of a 100 percent renewable/fossil-free energy system by 2040, and in that transition wind power plays a large and important role. The goal of the center is to carry out research linked to the needs that wind power companies in Sweden experience in order to enable wind power's expansion and role in the energy transition.
