Professional Education Course (for members)

Circular Carbon Flows including CCU and CCS technologies (spring 2026)

Carbon is at the heart of energy and material systems, but today’s linear use drives emissions and resource loss. This course shows how circular carbon strategies can turn that challenge into opportunity, equipping you with practical methods and real-world insights to reduce fossil dependence and design sustainable solutions.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This two-day course provides a structured introduction to circular carbon systems, showing how carbon capture (CCS), carbon utilization (CCU), and advanced recycling work together to reduce fossil dependence and close the carbon loop. Through lectures and case studies including the Stenungsund petrochemical cluster and insights from GoBiGas, participants explore thermochemical and co recycling pathways and the integration of capture-utilization processes. The course covers energy and process optimization alongside policy frameworks (e.g. EU ETS, waste hierarchy) and decision tools such as techno economic analysis and life cycle assessment.

  • Course details and invitations have been sent to members.
  • 20-21 May 2026 on Chalmers campus.
  • The registration deadline is 15 April.
