Guest lecturer, Mathematical Sciences

My research focuses on mathematical modeling and analysis of social-ecological systems i.e. complex adaptive systems that represent human-nature interactions. These systems are to study various real life phenomena, such as persistent poverty and poverty traps, regime shifts in ecosystems, of effects of social norms and strategic behavior. Two main topics of my research are: 1) analysis of mechanisms and nonlinear dynamics of social-ecological systems, and 2) using dynamical systems theory to study causation in social-ecological research.
