Fredrik Normann

Professor, Department of Space, Earth and Environment, Energy Technology.

Fredrik Normann works with emissions generated during combustion processes. His research focus on technologies for reducing the emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) through carbon capture and sequestration as well as of emissions like nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulphur oxides (SOx). The work includes modelling of detailed combustion chemistry and absorption processes as well as process simulations. Fredrik is responsible of the basic course in thermodynamics at the master program in mechanical engineering at Chalmers and supervises several master thesis projects each year.
Fredrik is responsible  of the course in Thermodynamics and Energy Technology (MTF042). The aim of the course is to provide an understanding of fundamental thermodynamics and energy technology, for example combustion engines, gas turbines and steam cycles. More information is availble in Studentportalen!
