András Bálint

Researcher at Mechanics and Maritime Sciences, Division of Vehicle Safety

András Bálint is a researcher and associate professor at the Division of Vehicle Safety at the Department of Mechanics and Maritime Sciences. He joined the division in 2012 after research in probability theory and statistical mechanics. Dr. Bálint has contributed to several national and international projects with crash data analysis and assessment method development for integrated vehicle safety systems, including several EU projects (e.g. ASSESS, PROSPECT, AEROFLEX) and the MRMD project to compare safety in cars between US and EU. His main work activities include statistical modelling and analysis in the context of traffic safety research as well as teaching related to statistical methods and road crash data.
