Ulf Gran

Professor/Vice Head of Department, Subatomic, High Energy and Plasma Physics, Department of Physics

Ulf Gran's research focuses on black holes in string theory. The aim is to get a better understanding of black holes in higher dimensions, but also to find applications in condensed matter physics via a recently discovered correspondence. According to this correspondence, the physics of certain condensed matter systems can be modeled by black hole physics, offering a completely new way to attack some important unsolved problems in e.g. high temperature superconductivity.
