The overall project goal of CRYSTAL is to foster Europe’s leading edge position in the design, development, and deployment of interoperable safety-critical embedded systems in particular regarding quality, cost effectiveness, flexibility, reusability, acceleration of time to market, continuous integration of innovations, and sustainability.
In building an overall interoperability domain “embedded systems”, CRYSTAL will contribute to establishing a standard for model-based systems engineering in a certification and safety context which is expected to have global impact.
In the overall project, Chalmers is contributing with its expertise in Model-Driven Engineering and Requirements Engineering, investigating possibilities for applying Model-Driven Requirements Engineering within the automotive domain. For example, we are:
Studying the current Requirements Engineering practices and challenges in industry
Investigating how requirements models can be used to improve current practices and address existing challenges
Experimentally comparing several modeling languages to find the optimal language for a given task
- Exploring how existing model structures can be leveraged to improve automotive Requirements Engineering
