In-vehicle Information Systems (IVIS) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are
designed for a primary function without faults being present in the systems. However, errors and failures do occur: in terms of driver errors, technical errors (failures) in the vehicle and errors in the communication with other vehicles and the infrastructure.
The project integrates research on HMI with the research on dependable systems to reach a multi-disciplinary research area to increase system safety in vehicles; to develop strategies for how to detect, diagnose and handle detected failures and errors; and to develop a model of the driver-safety system system to be used in the further development of ADAS and IVIS.
