Energy Systems Analysis

In energy system analysis we study how the energy system works and may develop. We have at the division since the year 2000 developed the global energy system model GET. GET has been used to characterize energy systems transitions for reaching stringent climate targets in terms of, e.g., costs and feasibility, efficient use of bioenergy, and the role of nuclear power. We are also developing new models, i.e agent based models to study the new challenges of high penetration of variable renewable energy sources.
