Virtual HybrId CooLing (VeHICLe)

An electrified vehicle is a complex thermal environment including a number of components, electric machines, converters and chargers, which requires cooling to function optimally. If the cooling is not operating optimally the losses will increase, the performance of the system will be lowered and the life span of the components might be compromised. To achieve a better understanding of the cooling system and to enable the development of improved cooling control, resulting in lower component losses, simulation models of different complexity is needed. The aim of the project is to develop a simple model on system level through more complex models on component level. Finite element models on component level and measurements on both component and system level make the base for the system level.
