Sustainable Product Lifecycle Platforms

​The ability to sustainably develop, produce and maintain products including related services is essential for both OEMs and suppliers. The platform-based approach is one key to sustainable product realization as an enabler for simultaneous re-use of assets and offer of product distinctiveness to customers. To enable this, new knowledge for accessing and utilizing technology, product and process knowledge, as well as supporting PLM solutions, will be required. The main novel contribution from this research is a developed and implemented new information framework for platform products which in its definition also includes related services.

Sustainable Product Lifecycle Platforms is an active field of research within the Production Area of Advance at Chalmers.
