The next generation of aircraft engines will meet an increasingly complex set of requirements including higher goals on energy efficiency and environmental friendliness, as well as adaptability to a variety of aircraft while utilizing the same engine technology.
This project aims to simulate how the engines design and installation in the aircraft affects how forces and deformations arise and resulting demands on the engines´ larger structural components.
The project has two goals:
To explore alternative configurations with the design space (Set Based Engineering),
To gain a better understanding of how requirements are set for future engine structures (Systems Engineering).
