Large-scale nonlinear optimization problems are solved routinely in applications. The ever-increasing need to solve such problems faster and more accurately, while the demand also is to solve larger and larger instances, is a source of inspiration for scientists to devise and establish new and better algorithms, especially for very large-scale problems that have special structures that both arises in applications and can be favourably exploited when developing efficient algorithms for their solution. This line of research focuses on developing a series of algorithms for certain classes of such structured nonlinear programs.
