Virtual manufacturing tools, e.g. advanced data analysis and simulation of production flows, are important for cutting lead-times in product realization projects and for increasing efficiency in production systems. VCC for example, aims to cut the lead-time from program start to delivery of first vehicle to 20 months and reaching an 85% OEE in running production. However, most time in simulation studies (70%) is “wasted” in data collection and experimentation. Therefore, the purpose is to reduce project time and enable more detailed analyzes increasing throughput (10%) and reducing energy consumption (50%).
The goal is to integrate automated data management, model generation and optimization to an efficient decision support system for production/maintenance engineers. The uniqueness is the seamless integration between data sources and simulation models using Intelligent Data Points and Data Fusion. Project results will be monitored and communicated using two industrial demonstrators.
