State-of-Function for energy storage systems in electrified vehicles
To strengthen the competiveness within this priority area the Swedish automotive industry is in strong need of: •Industrial know-how and access to highly educated persons, •In order to increase performance/life length with the control strategy and increased understanding of the dynamics of the electrical energy storage, •Improved test methods. This project has the name “State of Function” and addresses the needs outlined above which extends from the battery state estimation of available energy, power, and battery health, to battery standards and test methods. A PhD student is funded by the project, thereby connecting industry, institute, and academia. Deliverables from the project are: •Improved battery state estimation and improved testing methods for different types of vehicle applications, •Joint position on future standards, •Knowledge about how worn out vehicle batteries can be used in other applications like smart-grids •Increased understanding of electrical safety in vehicles
