SEAMOCS Marie Curie Research Training Network includes research and competence development (post-doctoral) in the areas: statistics and probabilistic methods, marine technology, hydrology and coastal technology, climatology sea transport safety.
The network facilitates both interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research in and between some of the above areas. The scientific objects are to obtain improved understanding of climatic variations and their effects on weather in particular (wind) and waves, validation of numerical and stochastic wave models and other computational tools against measured data (eg, from satellite images), and better understanding of the effect of wave loadings and their contribution to fatigue damage in ships.
