The objective of this joint research project is to further enhance the safety of forward facing child occupants (aged 3-12) in the rear seat with special focus on real world aspects contributing to setting the agenda for child safety research and development. The project is a broad comprehensive research effort that combines expertise from industry and academia and uses various methodologies with applied research directed towards countermeasures and directions for guidelines, regulations and standards. The project includes real world crash data analysis, real-world driving studies, testing and simulations, and development of tools.
