Organic batteries for sustainable and increased energy efficiency in local energy storage


Herein researchers from Uppsala, Lund and Chalmers aim to create the basis for next generation of SUSTAINABLE electric energy storage (EES) systems for local storage and production of energy. We will develop 3 organic matter based EES systems, custom-made for the unique cycling chemistries that organic electrodes are suitable for. We will also use the possibilities that organic matter offers in terms of variability in combination with photovoltaic-cells to make prototypes demonstrating how full sustainable energy harvesting and storage systems can function to power e.g. internet-of-things applications and to form a base for upscaling towards applications managing intermittent renewable energy sources. Dissemination of results is essential for the project. In addition to publishing in ordinary scientific channels substantial efforts will be put into getting results out in journals specialized towards selected industrial audiences, to hold focus meetings with already identified companie
