Multiphysics simulatin of cooling systems and its components in an electrical/hybrid vehicle

In this project the propulsion and other large electric auxiliary power components are co-modelled with the cooling circuit in an electrified vehicle, wither an EV or a PHEV, with the purpose of conducting energy loss analysis with various driving cycles, components ant other conditions. It is thus of importance to develop and verify a system model on the highest level including cooling circuit with propulsion inverter, electric machine, battery, dc/dc-converter, pumps and possibly a heater. Within this there are two paths which include electric machine design where the developed multifunctional tools can be used to in various ways improve the efficiency of the system and in this way the cost effectiveness. The project will among other results answer on the question: How much is the energy efficiency improved using the 4-5 most important driving cycles ?
