Increasing the innovation capacity in healthcare

Region Västra Götaland (VGR) has identified a need to develop the skills in design-driven innovation methods among its netw ork of innovation practitioners. The purpose of the project is to disseminate scientific know ledge and methods in design innovation, also called service design. The expected impact of a strengthened design capacity among the practitioners is a qualitative reinforcement of existing and future improvement ideas generated in the VGR healthcare organization. The project has three players: The VGR Innovation Platform, Chalmers University of Technology and the intermediary hokahey consulting. Their intention is to jointly identify, refine, package and spread know ledge and methodology to the target group of 20 innovation practitioners. The objective of the 9-month training program is that the participants have acquired advanced-level skills and are actively applying those in ongoing innovation projects in their organizations. In addition, that they are guiding and teaching peers in hands-on innovation methods so that the know ledge continues to spread.
