Green solvents processed polymer solar cells for indoor applications
Many indoor electronic devices including Internet of Things are low power driven, which can be satisfied with the use of polymer solar cells (PSCs), converting indoor light into electricity. In this way, production of trillions of disposable alkaline batteries will be aborted since there is no needs for battery replacement within at least 10
years. This will bring a profound impact on our environment and a great contribution to our sustainable society.
However, up to now, this intelligent solution has attracted little attention due to the main challenge of lacking suitable semi-conducting polymers that are processable by green solvents for the fabrication of PSCs. In this project, we have the ambitious goals to develop polymers processable by green solvents for efficient PSCs with a focus on indoor applications. The project results will be disseminated through different channels and utilised by the identified companies for manufacture of integrated indoor devices for the public.
