ELISE - Electric drives - Intelligent Software & Electromagnetics
In this project, it will be investigated how a permanent magnet synchronous machine can be controlled using alternative control strategies that are independent of the rotor position sensor and uses a minimum amount of inverter switching events. An example of such method, with reduced amount of inverter switching, is the direct torque control approach (DTC). The evaluations will be bases on energy efficiency, torque characteristics and acoustic noise emissions. Comparisons, with state-of-the-art methods such as the commonly used SPWM and the previously investigated DPWM, will be conducted. The project is a continuation on Andreas Andersson’s PhD project, ELIN –a robust and energy efficient integrated electric drive line (project number at Energimyndigheten 37189-1), which will lead the PhD-student to dissertation and completion of the PhD. Furthermore, after dissertation the ambition is to continue the work with investigations on asymmetrical propulsion machines.
