This project will investigate how different type of drivers affects the ageing in the Li-ion batteries in a vehicle. The goal is to quantify the ageing difference in the battery between an aggressive driver (fast accelerations) compared to a more placid driver (mild accelerations) and how this can affect the sizing of the battery for electrified vehicles, as well as to investigate the difference in ageing of the battery, when exposed to the two driver types. The assumption is that men are more aggressive drivers and women more placid drivers. The project includes analysis of previously collected driving data to investigate different driving behaviours. Based on this, two different driving cycles will be developed that will be used for lifetime testing of battery cells and for a case study using a battery ageing model.
