DME technology for Euro VI/US10

It is becoming more evident that alternative and renewable energy carriers must be used to a larger extent in future energy scenarios, in order to limit the adverse effects of the global warming and increasing consumption of finite feedstocks. Sustainable transport solutions are therefore a necessity for the future and DME could be an important cornerstone in building them since it has high life cycle efficiency and yields low emissions. The aim of this project is therefore to develop a DME system concept for Euro VI/US10 and by doing so taking a small step in reaching sustainable transport solutions. The engine concept will be developed by: Determine the requirements of engine systems (e.g. inj. pressure and EGR system capacity). Use present technology and develop new when necessary to fulfil these requirements. Combine these technologies into concepts and evaluate these to determine which concept that is most appropriate for fulfilling requirements of a commercial DME truck.
