RESEARCH TOPICS AND CONTRIBUTIONS 2017
Project application Horizon 2020-project SEDNA.
Route planning with respect to structural response – consequences on ETA and environmental impact (emissions).
Safe and efficient Shipping in Arctic waters.
Arrangements of workshops/seminars/ member of scientific committees, etc. Assignment in editorial boards.
Reduced resistance: Deepen the knowledge regarding interaction between ship and sea, and (b) further improve hull and propeller for enhanced hydrodynamic.
Noise reduction: Cavitation-induced noise.
Structure and materials: (a) Cavitation-induced erosion and energy efficiency, (b) develop modelling and experimental methodology for structural analysis of failure of ballast tank coatings.
Maintenance, durability and robustness: (a) further improve reliability and safety, (b) optimise maintenance actions, (c) deepen the knowledge on material and structural deterioration.
Systems analysis: Energy systems studies focusing on sustainable, cost-effective fuel choices in a long term perspective taking resource limitations and emission reduction schemes into account.
Emission measurement and impact: Analyse the environmental effects of shipping technologies aiming for improved energy efficiency or change of fuel.
