Physics and Modelling of Nuclear Reactors
Research and teaching on the modelling of complex systems and in particular nuclear reactors is pursued.
The aim is to develop beyond state-of-the-art modelling techniques to be used in future simulation platforms, with emphasis on the multi-physics and multi-scale aspects of such systems. In order to tackle the problem at hand, a multi-disciplinary task force, called DREAM (with DREAM standing for Deterministic Reactor Modelling), was created at Chalmers. The task force gathers the necessary expertise in neutron transport, fluid dynamics, heat transfer and numerical methods to develop innovative techniques.
