Our research

The department of Physics originates from the fundamental truths and basic concepts of the physical sciences and is concerned with the utilisation of these scientific principles in practical devices and systems as well as for developing physics itself.

In other words we do everything from basic research into the physics of biological membranes to applied projects concerning the development of new materials for fuel cell applications.

The research profile includes such diverse topics as  biological membranes, disordered systems, complex oxides, surface- and nano-physics, materials for energy applications, plasmas for medical applications and dark matter research to mention a few.
