Animated refuse-collecting robot shows vision of the future

During the autumn of 2015 students from Chalmers University of Technology, Mälardalen University and Penn State University together with Volvo Group and the waste recycling Renova, has developed a robot that automatically collects and empties refuse bins.

Petter Falkman is the Head of the educational programme at Chalmers, and his son William Falkman was inspired by the project and created this animation showing how it might look in the future. William, whose major interest is animation, aims in the future for the opportunity to work full time with game development and especially gaming graphics.

The animation is based on an illustration originally created by Adrian Wirén from Mälardalen University.
