Title of talk: How our bodies are affected by long-term stress
In this lunch seminar Dr Anna Sjörs Dahlman will talk about her journey as an accidental researcher, and about how not setting a career path is also a career path. The topic of the scientific part of the seminar will be the biology of burnout. Current research about what happens to the human body when we are exposed to long-term stress shows contradictory results. There are also some common misunderstandings about the biology of chronic stress. Anna will present results from studies she conducted at the Institute of Stress Medicine in Gothenburg and describe findings from national and international research on the biology of burnout.
The seminar is open to anyone with an interest in female role models within academia - especially from Chalmers, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Sahlgrenska Academy, Gothenburg University, Borås University, and MedTech West.
WiSE – Women in Science – aims to create a supportive network for young female researchers during their academic career. WiSE is a joint project between MedTech West and the department of Electrical Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology.
