Abstract of talk
Wireless backhaul is of great importance for successful radio access network deployments since it provides a flexible and cost efficient deployment of radio base stations. Wireless backhaul will continue to play an important role also in 5G and beyond 5G system deployments only if it continues to keep up with the evolution of radio access technology which for each generation becomes more spectral efficient and operates over wider and higher frequency bands. This talk will address multi-antenna technology and its opportunities and challenges when applied to wireless backhaul applications. It will also address spectrum challenges and the ongoing convergence between wireless backhaul and radio access technologies.
