Advanced organic synthesis

  • Course code: FKBT145
  • Course higher education credits: 15.0
  • Graduate school: Chemistry
  • Course is normally given: Every year
  • Language: The course will be given in English
Methods for functional group transformations. Retrosynthetic analysis. Synthetic strategies, including atom efficiency and environmental/health aspects. Protecting groups. Reactivity and selectivity of different reagents and functional groups. Modern methods for the formation of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds.

Application information
Masters program in Materials Chemistry at Chalmers, but can also be taken at graduate student level student course. A basic course in organic chemistry is a prerequisite, and a more advanced course such as KBT036 (Advanced Organic Chemistry) at Chalmers is recommended before taking this course.
