Advanced organic chemistry
- Course code: FKBT125
- Course higher education credits: 7.5
- Department: CHEMISTRY AND CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
- Graduate school: Chemistry
- Course is normally given: Every year
- Language: The course will be given in English
Course is part of the Masters Program Materials Chemistry, but can also be taken as a graduate student course. The course covers formation of carbon-carbon bonds, pericyclic reactions, organocatalysis, organic photochemistry, organometallic chemistry, asymmetric synthesis and reactions involving phosphorus-, boron- and nitrogen-containing reagents. The students will also work with selected modern methods for organic synthesis in the laboratory. The course is given in the form of lectures, tutorials and a laboratory part. The laboratory part consists of a multi-step synthesis to be carried out in groups of two.
