The Development and Blended Learning Division has
ten employees and is divided into two teams.
The development team develops and
administers the various IT systems used by the department, for example library
systems, research.chalmers.se and the department’s intranet. The team also
provides method support to other departments in areas such as UX (User
experience) and agile working methods (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
The Blended Learning team (BLT) mainly
works directly on behalf of undergraduate studies. We offer Chalmers’ teachers
practical and educational support, focusing on digitisation. The aim is to
improve the quality of teaching. One approach involves activities such as ‘flipped
classroom’, in which the teacher turns traditional concepts on their head and
provides web-based reviews instead of lectures in the classroom.
BLT develops open, online courses (Massive
Open Online Courses – MOOCs). We are in charge
of the entire process, roughly like a production company. We have developed
seven MOOCs for Chalmers’ first micromaster programme, which is in automotive
technology. Read more about Chalmers MOOCs here.
