Electronic Letters highlights FORCE research

​FORCE research on long-wavelength VCSELs was highlighted in the June issue of Electronics Letters.
​FORCE member Ewa Simpanen was interviewed about her latest research on 1060nm VCSELs in the June issue of Electronics Letters. The research is done in collaboration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and aims to develop VCSELs suitable for data-center interconnects with reach over 1km. For this application, 1060nm VCSELs are attractive since chromatic dispersion and attenuation are lower than at the classical 850nm.
