An Ocean of Opportunity – Exploring New Value Creation Activities for Social Impact

In this talk, Robin Teigland, who recently moved from the Stockholm School of Economics to the Division of Entrepreneurship & Strategy as Professor of Management of Digitalization, will present her research and recent activities as a social entrepreneur. Her talk will focus on Peniche Ocean Watch, a digitally-enabled circular economy project based on seabed marine litter that she is co-leading with the goal of rejuvenating an entrepreneurial mindset in coastal communities.

Robin Teigland is Professor in Management of Digitalization at the Department of Technology Management and Economics at Chalmers.  ​Robin’s research interests reside at the intersection of strategy, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. She focuses on how the convergence of emerging technologies such as 3D printing, artificial intelligence, IoT, and smart robotics enable communities to create value outside of a firm’s traditional boundaries as well as challenge long-standing institutional structures in society.
In 2017 and 2018 Robin Teigland was listed by the Swedish business magazine, Veckans Affärer, as one of Sweden’s most influential women, primarily in technology. She has also been nominated as one of the Global Top 50 Business Professors on Twitter.
