The course ”Lean Port Operations”, arranged by Chalmers Professional Education, aims at improving the port’s operations using the Japanese Lean-philosophy. The course consists of three full-day modules, mixing lectures, study visit and a Lean-based game where the participants will test the Lean-theory on port operations. The course also includes the relevant leadership issues as well as tools for successful change management.

Chalmers Professional Education arranges a large number of Lean-oriented courses every year, for several different industries. Hans Reich from Chalmers Professional Education explains that the courses not only focus on managers.

- Our experience shows that a broad acceptance in the organization is the key to success in all types of change management. This is especially relevant when it comes to Lean, which is largely based on the co-workers’ initiatives and efforts.
