Presentation:

Ann-Sofie Axelsson earned her Ph.D. in 2004 on social interaction in shared virtual environments, an area within which she has published extensively during recent years. She is the editor of the book, Avatars at Work and Play: Activities in Shared Virtual Environments (with Ralph Schroeder, 2006) and the forthcoming book 'På spaning efter teknisk bildning' (Liber, with Åke Ingerman and Karin Wagner).

Currently she holds a position as a lecturer/researcher in the Department of Technology Management and Economics, Chalmers University of Technology, where she is conducting research on community knowledge environments, e-research, mobile telephony, digital advertising and learning physics in groups.

Axelsson's main teaching concerns technology and sustainable development and new media and social change.

Ongoing Projects:

Learning in Groups: A multidisciplinary perspective on creating and participating in discursive spaces of learning. Funded by Vetenskapsrådet/The Swedish Research Council (2006-2010).

The Swedish wonder in digital advertising - network culture, entrepreneurial network and system of innovation. Funded by KK-stifelsen (2010-2011).
