Chalmers as an entrepreneurial university of technology emphasized innovation and entrepreneurship as well as sustainable development as its key driving forces. Organizational renewal within and between organizations is a key aspect to understand and manage if we want to bring about more sustainable innovation.
The division MORE – Management of Organizational Renewal and Entrepreneurship – focuses on renewal, either by researching the founding and development of new technology based firms or creatively revitalizing existing large corporations. Our research is empirical and we prioritize partnerships with firms who are willing to engage in experiments and hence share their operations with us as a laboratory for learning how to change and develop.
At the core of our studies is the assumption that organizations are human systems where the quality of interactions between individuals, groups, structures and systems will be crucial for renewal which concurrently serves financial performance and human growth.
The research we do on renewal is oriented towards a view of organizations and humans as in transition, the process of being agile and able to be game changers or quickly adapting to new challenges.
Our ambition is always that our research can be used to intervene, improve and clarify how an effective and humanistic organization could be rather than analyzing or describing what is. Our interventions aim to create laboratory spaces, where the whole system is in the room and where we provide processes that facilitate renewal.
Key areas of research issues include:
- The creation of Next Generation Entrepreneurs
- Next Generation Leadership in global firms
- University Entrepreneurship
- Radical Innovation arenas
- System wide processes for Strategic Renewal
