Teaching

RIDE's aim within teaching has been to raise the quality of undergraduate and Masters teaching, as well as research training.

We have focused on Raising the quality of undergraduate and Masters teaching, as well as research training. By this, we meant that center activities and research should be an important base for improving the quality, renewing the content of existing courses, and developing completely new courses. The activities included:

  • PhD training and PhD courses. Supervision has been offered for students in all our Nodes, as well as doctoral students at other universities (nationally as well as internationally). RIDE members have also frequently lectured in Doctoral cources.

  • A major task has been the teaching and designing of Masters Programmes. Especially designing and running the MEI Programme has been very important for RIDE. Well over 200 master students have followed the programme, and, thus, gained knowledge of our research.

  • In addition to the MEI programme, RIDE has also participated in the development and teaching in three additional Master Programmes:
    •    Chalmers ‘Industrial ecology’ Masters Programme
    •    Halmstad University Master on Innovation and Business development
    •    GU Master on Industrial Management

  • RIDE has been active in the supervision of Masters theses. There has been over 40 Master theses completed in Phase II (most often involving two students, i.e. a total of around 80 students). Many of these theses are closely linked to our research. To be able to offer Travel Grants for Master Students (for example to present results at international conferences) have been a (financially) small cost but a highly beneficial activity. Several of the Master Thesis students have continued as PhD students.
