Materials for Tomorrow

"Materials for Tomorrow" - Materials Science area of Advance Initiative Seminar

Very often it is discoveries of new materials that stand behind technological breakthroughs. To sit on the beach with
an IPad would not have been possible without new materials for computer memory or lithium batteries. The most
important challenges in the future are to provide new materials that create breakthroughs in the fields of energy
technology, life science and sustainable development.

Welcome to the Initiative Seminar "Materials for Tomorrow", where we look into the future. Scientists and industry will give their view on challenges and possibilities in materials science.

In panel discussions we will hear what scientists predict by looking into the crystal ball and what happens when academia and industry meet in order to find better ways of collaboration within materials science. Amongst the participants there are representatives of AstraZeneca, Volvo Technology, SCA and Xylophane.

The Initiative seminar is open for everybody 18-19 October and free of charge. We have many interesting presentations lined up – check out the program here.

Deadline for registration was 3 October, however feel free to drop in and participate in all lectures, discussions and the poster session.
