Docent, Arkitektur och samhällsbyggnadsteknik, Stadsbyggnad, forskargruppen Spatial Morphology Group

Associate Professor in Urban Analytics and Informatics working in the topic of City Information Modelling (CIM) and Urban Digital Twins. His primary research focus is on the conceptualisation and development of integrated urban models applied to digital urban planning research and practice in the domains of sustainable mobility of people and goods, social inclusion, liveability, energy transition, and circular economy. The research leverages the potential of open geodata and open source network, spatial and statistical analysis, geodatabase, machine learning and visualisation technologies. Jorge Gil earned in 2016 a PhD in Urbanism from the TU Delft, in 2000 a MSc in Virtual Environments from the Bartlett, UCL, and in 1996 a Bachelor in Architecture from the University of Lisbon. Jorge teaches GIS, sustainable mobility, and data science in various courses at Chalmers, and has taught Spatial Decision Support Systems at the MSc Geomatics TU Delft, between 2015 and 2018.
