A course named Colloidal Domain after the book ”Colloidal Domain – where Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Technology meet” by D.F. Evans and Håkan Wennerström (Wiley-VCH, 2nd ed., 1999) will be given in the winter 2008-2009.

The course is based on weekly seminars and will be run in parallel in Lund, Stockholm and Göteborg. The students are expected to read chapters and work on exercises in advance and to participate actively during the seminars. The course will start in week 45, 2008 and run for 11 weeks with a break around Christmas – New Year. One chapter of the book will be dealt with each time. The teachers will be Håkan Wennerström , Lund; Magnus Bergström, Stockholm; and Johan Bergenholtz, Göteborg.

Times and locations for the weekly seminars will be given by the teachers at the different locations. Please contact them for specific questions regarding the course. During the latter part of the course there will be a gathering for all participants at one of the nodes, probably as a lunch-to-lunch event.

The course is free of charge and the graduate school will compensate each participant with 2 000 kr to cover travel to the gathering and accommodation. The participants will also receive the course book. We recommend that the course is given 15 ECTS.
