ResearchThe Department works on a broad competence profile in shipping and marine technology. Training and research both support processes in the genesis of the ship, as well as processes in its handling, management, and operation. The role and capabilities of human beings in these processes has come under increasingly close scrutiny, and Human Factors occurs as an element in almost every project. The marine environment is another focus area that is becoming increasingly clear in the Department’s research. Environment and future energy usage are also seen in many ways as vital questions for future transport by sea. Marine Design Maritime Operations
