Seminar

Dissertation: Listen to your eyes! On Friday May 31st, 2013, at 10.30, Claudia Wege will give her PhD thesis presentation: "Listen to your eyes! Designing Driver Distraction Mitigation Through Behaviour-Based Safety And Real-Time Driver Feedback Technology". Claudia is an industrial PhD student at Volvo GTT. She is working in the EU Marie Curie Project ADAPTATION (http://adaptation-itn.eu/) and connected to SAFER Vehicle and Traffic Safety Centre. She will defend her PhD thesis in a few weeks at the Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany.

DRIVE C2X Demo Event: Making cooperative systems cooperate The EU project DRIVE C2X is pleased to announce the last major demo event of DRIVE C2X's test site campaign "Making cooperative systems cooperate". Visitors will have the unique opportunity to drive themselves and gain hands-on experience of the DRIVE C2X functions in a running FOT. The event will take place on June 13-14, 2013 at the Test Site Sweden (TSS), in Gothenburg.

Upplev framtidens smartare bilkörning

I framtiden kommer bilar att kunna kommunicera med varandra och närliggande infrastruktur. På så sätt kan bilförare förvarnas om vägbyggen, halka, köer och trafikolyckor eller få information om när trafikljusen kommer att slå om till grönt. Redan den 13-14 juni har du möjlighet att uppleva tekniken när Lindholmen Science Park, SAFER och Volvo Cars bjuder in till en avslutande presentation och demonstration av EU-projektet Drive C2X.

Fordon kommunicerar med andra fordon, sin omgivning, och sin förare. Kan detta göra trafiken säkrare, effektivare och mer hållbar? Fyra korta föredrag och gemensam diskussion belyser möjligheter och svårigheter med avancerad kommunikation och mänskligt beteende. Framtidens trafik - säker och hållbar är ett entimmas seminarium som SAFER håller i mitt i Nordstan under Vetenskapsfestivalen.

Anna Nilsson-Ehle får Gustaf Dalén-medaljen 2013

Anna Nilsson-Ehle, föreståndare på Chalmers fordons- och trafiksäkerhetscentrum SAFER, belönas med Chalmersska Ingenjörsföreningens Gustaf Dalén-medalj 2013. Hon får utmärkelsen för sitt framgångsrika och entusiasmerande ledarskap vad gäller forskning, utveckling och information om teknik och naturvetenskap, samt för att hon genom ihärdigt och personligt engagemang har skapat förutsättningar för att akademi och industri kan utveckla världsledande kunskap tillsammans.

International visits at SAFER

During the past few weeks SAFER has had many international visitors. To name a few, Tim Gordon from University of Michigan was here in the beginning of March and presented the Site Observer developed within the SHRP2 Safety Program in the US at a SAFER seminar.

Trent Victor now adjunct professor

Trent Victor is a Technology Specialist in Human Machine Interaction at Volvo Global Trucks Technology. He is also competence area leader at SAFER and deeply involved in many of our projects within naturalistic driving studies (NDS). On March 18, 2013, he gave his installation lecture for Adjunct Professor at the department of Applied IT at Chalmers.

Konferens i barnets tjänst

Den 5 mars, hölls konferensen Barn, Liv och Trafik för andra året i rad. Endagskonferensen är ett initiativ från SAFER, NTF Väst och Göteborgs stad och samlar nära 200 deltagare från hela landet. Fokus var på barn och dess trafikmiljö och väckte mycket debatt.
