Mats Viberg is a Professor in Signal Processing since 1993. He is the head of the Division of Signal Processing and Antennas (SPA) and the Signal Processing research group. His main tasks are to lead and supervise research and education at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Dr. Viberg received his PhD in 1989 from Linköping University, Sweden. After Post-Docs at Linköping University, Brigham Young University and Stanford University, he became a Professor of Signal Processing at Chalmers University of Technology in 1993. He was the Head of the Department of Applied Electronics 1995-1997, and the Department of Signals and Systems 1999-2004. Dr. Viberg's research interests are in Statistical Signal Processing and its various applications, including Sensor Array Signal Processing, System Identification, Wireless Communications, Radar Systems and Automotive Signal Processing. He has received 2 Best Paper Awards from the IEEE Signal Processing Society (1993 and 1999 respectively), and he is a Fellow of the IEEE since 2003. He was elected into the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences (KVA) in 2008.
Dr. Viberg is currently teaching Random Processes With Applications for the Masters Program Communications Engineering, and the graduate courses Stochastic Processes, Antenna Array Signal Processing and Model-Based Signal Processing.
